Special Events Application

This application will either be approved, approved with conditions, denied, or more information will be requested within five (5) business days of submission to the Parks and Recreation Department.  Due to the nature of some events, additional information may be requested.  Application must be submitted no less than ten (10) days prior to the event.  In the event of a street closure, applications must be submitted no less than twenty (20) days in advance.  Due to Texas Department of Transportation requirements, closing any state highway for more than six (6) hours will require sixty (60) days' notification to the City. You will be notified in writing or by telephone of the application status at that time.

  10. If applicant is requesting closure of city roads a site plan will need to be submitted with the application to include roads that the applicant suggests to have closed during the event.



    1. The applicant will clean the grounds, remove equipment, and restore the permitted site by 12:00 p.m. of the day after the event.   The sale of goods, food, beverages or other such items on City property can be authorized only in the absence of a concessionaire in the permitted site or his inability to supply the needs of the proposed activity.


    1. The applicant is responsible for providing parking assistance.


    1. Adequate policing for crowd control must be provided by applicant.  Off duty officers are available by calling (940) 458-7444.


    1. The applicant will not nail, staple, or otherwise attach any event-connected signs to any guard post, signpost, utility pole or tree. 


    1. Admission to the event will not be limited to membership nor will any discrimination be made against a person because of race, religion, sex, color, age, or national origin in conducting the event.   Admission to view the event will be open to the general public without discrimination on the grounds of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, or age.  Participation in the event may be limited to members of the sponsoring group, provided that the group does not unlawfully discriminate against participation in the event on grounds of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, or age.   Request for Special Event Application citing special circumstances for participation requiring gender or age discrimination must be accompanied by an exceedingly persuasive justification.   This may be appropriate for activities such as contact sports and sports such as tennis, or golf.


    1. Private use of City of Sanger land will not permit public use of all recreational resources.


    1. If necessary, the applicant will furnish a map showing the area where the special event is to be conducted.  Events that require street closures will need a map/site plan submitted with the application.


    1. The applicant must submit a site plan to indicate number of vehicles, animals, participants, route, etc., for consideration, if applicable to the event.


    1. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on public property.
