The City of Sanger has deployed a fire engine to South Texas to aid in emergency response in the
aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Since most of our fire personnel are part-time and work full-time
at other departments, the engine is being staffed by four personnel from the Lewisville Fire
Department. This unit is part of three strike forces consisting of five engines each being deployed
from Denton and Tarrant counties. They will be operating in the Corpus Christi and Rockport
Sanger is proud to assist our fellow Texans in their time of need. Please keep all of the first
responders and those affected by this unprecedented disaster in your thoughts and prayers.
Sanger is located in northern Denton County along Interstate 35. Established in 1886 as a stop
along the Santa Fe railroad, Sanger is a thriving community that offers its residents the best of both
worlds: big city opportunities combined with small-town charm. Sanger is only 10 miles from
Denton and 50 miles from Downtown Dallas and Fort Worth.
