Building Inspection is a division of the Economic & Community Development Department. It is responsible for the review and permitting of construction work performed within the city limits. Building permits are required for most residential and commercial construction work, including the creation of new structures, remodeling, finish outs of shell spaces, and additions.

Effective May 1, 2017, all building permits issued on or after this date will be under the following codes which were adopted with local amendments:

Effective May 2, 2017, the City of Sanger implemented a new permitting software by Meritage Systems that serves as a one-stop shop for builders, contractors and residents. This is a straight-forward permitting and inspections software designed to streamline and automate building department processes, helping to ensure compliance, increase efficiency and improve customer satisfaction.
